Terms and Conditions
Tsingy Safari Madagascar — Last updated: June 2026. These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings, travel arrangements, tours, transfers, car rental with driver, excursions, accommodation arrangements, guiding services, and tailor-made itineraries organized by Tsingy Safari Madagascar. By requesting a quotation, confirming a booking, paying a deposit, or participating in a tour, the traveler confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

Tsingy Safari Madagascar acts as a local tour organizer in Madagascar. We arrange private tours, car rental with driver, accommodation, local guides, national parks, reserves, boat transfers, ferry crossings, domestic travel assistance, excursions, and related travel services.
2. Scope of Services
Our services may include, depending on the confirmed itinerary: private tour organization in Madagascar, private vehicle with professional driver, national accompanying guide, local guides for parks, reserves, protected sites, cultural visits, or city tours, accommodation booking, airport transfers, ferry crossings and boat transfers when included, excursions mentioned in the confirmed program, entrance fees, domestic flight booking assistance when requested, and local assistance before and during the trip. Only services written in the final confirmed quotation or itinerary are included.
3. Quotations and Prices
All prices are quoted according to the services requested, travel dates, number of travelers, accommodation category, vehicle type, guiding arrangements, park fees, domestic transport, boat transfer fees and local logistics. Prices are usually given in EUR, USD, MGA, or another agreed currency.
A quotation is not a confirmed booking until the deposit has been received and written confirmation has been issued by Tsingy Safari Madagascar. Prices may change before confirmation due to hotel availability, fuel price changes, domestic flight changes, exchange rate variation, or supplier price changes. Once the booking is confirmed, the price will remain fixed unless changes are requested by the traveler or caused by circumstances outside our control.
4. Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed only when the traveler accepts the final itinerary and quotation in writing, the traveler pays the required deposit, Tsingy Safari Madagascar confirms receipt of payment, and Tsingy Safari Madagascar sends written booking confirmation.
The traveler is responsible for checking all booking details, including dates, names, number of travelers, itinerary, included services, excluded services, accommodation, flights, and special requests. Any correction must be communicated immediately.
5. Deposit and Payment
A 30% deposit of the total tour price is required to confirm the booking. The deposit allows us to secure hotels, vehicles, guides, park arrangements, domestic services, boat transfers, ferry logistics, and other local suppliers.
The remaining 70% balance must be paid no later than 30 days before arrival, unless another written agreement is made. For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, full payment may be required at the time of confirmation. Bank transfer fees, payment platform fees, card fees, currency conversion fees, and intermediary bank charges are the responsibility of the traveler unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Late Payment
If the balance payment is not received by the due date, Tsingy Safari Madagascar reserves the right to suspend the booking, cancel unpaid services, release hotel rooms or vehicles, apply cancellation charges, or treat the booking as cancelled by the traveler. We will make reasonable efforts to contact the traveler before cancellation.
7. Cancellation by the Traveler
All cancellation requests must be sent in writing by email or official WhatsApp contact. The cancellation date is the date on which Tsingy Safari Madagascar receives the written cancellation during Madagascar business hours.
- More than 31 days before arrival: 30% deposit retained
- 30 to 20 days before arrival: 50% of total tour price charged
- 19 to 10 days before arrival: 75% of total tour price charged
- Less than 09 days before arrival: 100% of total tour price charged
- No-show or early departure: 100% of total tour price charged
The 30% deposit is generally non-refundable because it covers preparation, administration fees, supplier reservations, and local arrangements already made. If hotels, domestic flights, private charters, boat operators, park services, or other suppliers apply stricter cancellation conditions, those supplier conditions may apply in addition to the above cancellation rules.
8. Refunds
Refunds, when applicable, will be made after deduction of bank fees, payment platform fees, non-refundable supplier costs, hotel cancellation charges, domestic flight charges, administrative and planning costs, and any services already provided. Refunds may take time depending on banks, payment providers, and supplier response times. No refund will be given for unused services if the traveler voluntarily misses, refuses, cancels, or abandons part of the itinerary after the tour has started.
9. Changes Requested by the Traveler
Travelers may request itinerary changes before or during the tour. We will try to assist when possible, but changes are subject to availability, timing, local conditions, and supplier rules. Any extra cost caused by requested changes must be paid by the traveler, including hotel upgrades, additional nights, extra excursions, route changes, domestic flight changes, vehicle changes, private boat changes, extra guides, or additional park visits. No refund is guaranteed if a traveler removes a service after confirmation.
10. Changes by Tsingy Safari Madagascar
Madagascar travel may be affected by weather, road conditions, river levels, ferry availability, domestic flight changes, sea conditions, park access, strikes, traffic, political events, mechanical problems, health or safety concerns, and other operational factors. Tsingy Safari Madagascar reserves the right to modify the itinerary when necessary for safety, comfort, feasibility, or force majeure, and will always try to provide a similar or better alternative when possible. If the change creates extra cost outside the original program, the traveler may be responsible for the additional cost unless otherwise agreed.
11. Force Majeure
Tsingy Safari Madagascar is not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including cyclones, floods, storms, drought, fire or natural disaster, road closure, bridge damage, ferry suspension or sea conditions, domestic flight or train cancellation, strike or civil unrest, epidemic or health restriction, park or border closure, war, or supplier failure outside our control. In such cases, we will try to reorganize the trip, propose alternatives, or issue credit when possible. Refunds are subject to supplier refund policies and actual recoverable costs. Tsingy Safari Madagascar is not responsible for additional expenses caused by force majeure.
12. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for some tours, covering medical expenses, emergency evacuation, repatriation, trip cancellation or interruption, lost luggage, delayed flights, personal accident, adventure activities where applicable, and force majeure where available. Tsingy Safari Madagascar is not responsible for costs that should be covered by travel insurance.
13. Passport, Visa, and Entry Requirements
Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they have a valid passport, required visa for Madagascar, required travel documents, vaccination documents if applicable, correct names on tickets and travel documents, sufficient passport validity, and any documents required for minors. Tsingy Safari Madagascar may provide general advice, but final responsibility belongs to the traveler. No refund will be given if a traveler is refused boarding, refused entry, or delayed because of incorrect or missing documents.
14. Health, Fitness, and Medical Conditions
Travelers must ensure they are physically and medically fit for the selected itinerary. Some Madagascar tours involve long drives, rough roads, heat, humidity, boat transfers, walking trails, remote areas, stairs, river crossings, forest paths, and limited medical facilities. Travelers must inform us before booking about any medical condition, allergy, disability, pregnancy, dietary restriction, mobility limitation, or special need that may affect the tour. We will try to assist, but we cannot guarantee that all destinations, hotels, boats, vehicles, or parks are accessible.
15. Safety and Traveler Responsibility
Travelers must follow reasonable safety instructions from guides, drivers, park staff, boat crew, hotel staff, and local authorities. Travelers are responsible for their personal belongings, passports, money, cameras, phones, luggage, and valuables. We recommend keeping valuable items with you and using hotel safes when available. Tsingy Safari Madagascar is not liable for loss, theft, damage, or personal injury caused by negligence, failure to follow instructions, illegal behavior, reckless behavior, or circumstances outside our control.
16. Roads, Transport, and Driving Conditions
Madagascar roads can be difficult, especially in remote areas. Travel time may be longer than expected due to road conditions, weather, ferry crossings, traffic, police checks, construction, or mechanical issues. Private vehicles are maintained and driven by professional drivers, but delays and breakdowns can still happen. Tsingy Safari Madagascar will make reasonable efforts to solve transport issues as quickly as possible.
17. Domestic Flights, Ferries, Boats, and Trains
Domestic flights, ferries, boats, and trains may be delayed, cancelled, rescheduled, or affected by operational and weather conditions. When domestic flights are included, flight conditions are subject to airline rules. When boats or ferries are included, sea conditions and safety decisions are made by the operator, captain, or local authority. Extra costs caused by delays, cancellations, missed connections, or schedule changes are the traveler's responsibility unless clearly included in the final quotation.
18. Accommodation
Accommodation is based on the hotels listed in the confirmed itinerary or similar category. In remote parts of Madagascar, hotel standards may be simple and different from international city standards. Facilities such as hot water, electricity, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, restaurant service, or card payment may be limited in some areas. If a hotel becomes unavailable after confirmation, we will replace it with similar accommodation where possible.
19. Meals and Dietary Requests
Meals are included only when clearly stated in the confirmed itinerary. Daily breakfast is included when stated. Lunches, dinners, drinks, bottled water, alcohol, snacks, and special meals are excluded unless clearly mentioned. We will try to communicate dietary requests to hotels and restaurants, but we cannot guarantee availability in all locations.
20. National Parks, Reserves, and Wildlife
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Lemurs, birds, reptiles, whales, fossas, marine animals, and other wildlife depend on season, weather, time of day, local conditions, and natural behavior. Park and reserve visits are subject to local regulations, opening times, guide availability, safety rules, and weather conditions. Travelers must respect wildlife, local guides, protected areas, and conservation rules.
21. Optional Activities
Optional activities are not included unless clearly written in the confirmed itinerary, including snorkeling, diving, whale watching, massage or spa, private dinner, special honeymoon decoration, extra night walks, extra boat trips, extra cultural visits, drone permits, photography permits, and equipment rental. Optional activities are subject to availability and local conditions.
22. Luggage
Travelers are responsible for their luggage. For domestic flights, boat transfers, small vehicles, and remote routes, luggage limits may apply. We recommend soft bags for tours involving 4x4 travel, boat transfers, or domestic flights. Excess luggage fees are the responsibility of the traveler.
23. Photography, Drones, and Media
Travelers are responsible for respecting local rules regarding photography, drones, protected areas, sacred sites, villages, people, and cultural events. Drone use may require authorization and may be prohibited in some areas. Photography fees, camera fees, drone permits, or special permits are not included unless clearly stated. Tsingy Safari Madagascar may request permission to use traveler photos or testimonials for marketing. We will not use identifiable traveler images for promotional purposes without consent.
24. Responsible Travel
Travelers are expected to respect local communities, cultural traditions, sacred places, national park rules, wildlife protection, environmental guidelines, hotel and supplier rules, and local laws. We reserve the right to remove a traveler from a tour without refund if they endanger themselves, other travelers, staff, local communities, wildlife, or property.
25. Complaints During the Tour
If a problem occurs during the tour, the traveler must inform the guide, driver, or office immediately so we can try to resolve it during the trip. Complaints made only after the trip may be harder to investigate.
26. Limitation of Liability
Tsingy Safari Madagascar is responsible for arranging the services confirmed in the itinerary with reasonable care. However, we are not liable for international flights, domestic flight delays or cancellations, supplier failure outside our control, weather or natural events, road or ferry delays, lost or stolen belongings, personal injury caused by traveler negligence, visa or immigration problems, missed services caused by late arrival, optional activities booked directly by the traveler, or force majeure events. Our liability, where legally applicable, is limited to the amount paid for the affected service.
27. Third-Party Suppliers
Some services are provided by third-party suppliers such as hotels, airlines, boat operators, restaurants, national parks, reserves, local guides, ferry operators, train companies, and activity providers. These suppliers may have their own terms, cancellation rules, safety rules, and liability limits. By booking with us, the traveler accepts that supplier terms may also apply.
28. Website Information
We try to keep website information accurate, but itineraries, prices, photos, descriptions, hotels, routes, and activities may change. Website content is for general information only and does not create a confirmed contract until written confirmation and payment are completed. Photos are illustrative and may not represent exact hotels, vehicles, rooms, meals, wildlife sightings, or weather conditions.
29. Privacy and Personal Data
Traveler personal information is handled according to our separate Privacy Policy. By booking with us, travelers agree that we may share necessary booking details with hotels, guides, drivers, airlines, parks, ferry operators, boat operators, and other suppliers required to operate the trip.
30. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Madagascar, unless another mandatory consumer protection law applies. In case of dispute, both parties agree to first try to resolve the matter amicably. If no amicable solution is found, the dispute may be submitted to the competent courts or authorities according to applicable law.
